CHAPTER 2: OPERA SPECIALISTS
In this session you must become specialists in opera to be able to infiltrate the Royal Theater and be part of The Resistance.

- DIN A2 cardboard or flipchart paper
- Labelers / Colored pencils / Boiled
- Mesas
- 1 computer with Internet connection per group (4-5)
- Open space to play
- Teacher script
- Elements to characterize yourself as specialists (Glasses, ties, law…)
- Mobile phone or camera
- Session support materials 2: Teacher script, history of opera, Music, Opera today, the opera house
Activities
PROFESSIONAL explains that he has received a new audio from The Resistance.
STUDENT listen to the audio "Chapter 2: Opera specialists
PROFESSIONAL Comment on the audio to check that the group has understood it.
Then we carry out the following activities:
The group is divided into 6 groups.
Each group will research a part of the proposed Support Materials.
- Different periods of history
- The music
- Theater plan
- The opera today
PROFESSIONAL You can distribute the content load by groups as you consider.
We propose:
Group 1: history of opera. Birth and Baroque. Classicism: opera seria, comic opera, reforma de happiness. Mozart
Group 2: history of opera. Romanticism and Wagner.
Group 3: history of opera. Verismo and nationalist opera. expressionist opera.
Group 4: Theater plan
Group 5: The music
Group 6: The opera today
Each group creates a mural with their findings, using cardboard and markers or colored pencils.
Each group shares the results of their research.
Extra Activities
To share research results, you can use this extra activity that we propose.
PROFESSIONAL explains that the group is going to become a global team of opera specialists. They are going to participate in a conference in which each group will share their discoveries about opera. And the congress begins in 5 minutes!
The group is characterized as specialists with the material offered by PROFESSIONAL.
PROFESSIONAL must also transform into a character, ¡es crucial! Can be the moderator of the congress, the president of the OEOE (Opera Experts Organization Spain), or whatever occurs to you.
Characterizing yourself is very important, helps you get into character and play the fiction.
Each group prepares its presentation as Specialists, taking into account that all people in the group must participate in the exhibition.
