Activities
PROFE plays the audio "Chapter 4: The company”, STUDENTS listen.
PROFESSIONAL comment on the audio to clarify the content and ensure that the group has understood.
Then the following activities are proposed.
Challenges are group dynamics in which we propose a challenge that the group must overcome by collaborating.. The proposed challenges are difficult, so the group must work hard to get them.
Challenges promote group cohesion, group autonomy and collaboration.
In this case we propose a challenge called “Ordered rows”.
The entire group must be arranged in a row according to a proposed criterion:
- By date of birth
- For clarity of eye color
- For hair color clarity
- By height
- By list order
The group will have a limited time (1 minutes) to be able to carry out the challenge.
PROFESSIONAL first propose a criterion. When they have done it, check that it is done correctly, and proposes another criterion.
And PROFESSIONAL identify that it is too easy, will propose another criterion but on this occasion the group cannot speak to order itself.
IF THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT
The challenges are really difficult. It is very possible that they will not achieve it and this generates frustration.
PROFESSIONAL ask how they feel and what went wrong, avoiding personalizing responsibilities. It is the entire group who must achieve it, and it is the entire group who has not achieved it.
PROFESSIONAL collects proposals for improvement of the group.
What can we do next time if we haven't achieved it??
How have you felt?
We recommend you repeat the challenge another time until the group achieves it..
IF THEY HAVE ACHIEVED IT
How have you done it? What has been your strategy?
How do you feel?
AND WHETHER THEY HAVE ACHIEVED IT OR IF THEY HAVE NOT ACHIEVED IT
What can we learn from this challenge for life in general??
And for life in the classroom?
And for the process of creating our opera in class??
The group investigates the professions of an opera company, using the supporting materials in this chapter.
For this they are divided into 9 subgroups, one per profession.
Each profession makes a diagram using cardboard, in which they will respond:
- What is the name of the profession?
- What are you doing?
- Who do you work with?
- What are your tools?
It is important that PROFESSIONAL advise of the time available for the task. It's a tight time to force you to get to the point.
The group shares the results of the research.
Extra Activities
As an extra activity, We propose the challenge “The Forbidden Corridor”. You have many other ideas for fantastic challenges in the document “LÓVA Challenges and Dynamics” in the supporting materials.
PROFE explains the challenge to the group:
The group is placed at one end of the open space.
PROFESSIONAL explains that they have to get across to the other side, which must be about 10 metros. You can use the patio or the gym for this, and mark in some way the place of departure and the place of arrival.
But they can't cross anyway!!
They are going to cross a hallway in which the passage of people outside the Royal Theater is absolutely prohibited.. The floor has special sensors that detect any footprint and set off alarms.. There are also microphones throughout the hallway, so any scream... sets off the alarm.
But we have a trick: The only way to step on the floor without the alarm going off is to place a piece of paper and step on it.. If you step on a sheet of paper, the sensors do not detect the footprint...
Each person in the group will have a sheet of paper in their hand..
The entire group must be able to get to the other side without stepping outside the pages at any time..
If any member of the group steps outside the sheet, The alarm goes off and the entire group is arrested..
If a sheet of paper breaks, no longer useful.
If someone shouts, the alarm goes off, and the entire group is captured.
And of course, there is a limit of 2 minutes to get it.
How are they going to organize? Will they get it?
PROFESSIONAL should not help the group by offering solutions, putting order or organizing them. They are the ones who must achieve it. The only way you can help is by remembering the rules and the time left.
PROFESSIONAL will be attentive if someone steps outside the folio, or if someone shouts.
If so... the alarm goes off and they are arrested!!
IF THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT
The challenges are really difficult. It is very possible that they will not succeed, and this generates frustration.
PROFE asks how they feel and what has gone wrong, avoiding personalizing responsibilities. It is the entire group who must achieve it, and it is the entire group who has not achieved it.
PROFE collects proposals for improvement from the group.
