Audra McDonald will debut in Spain at the Teatro Real in Madrid. She will do so by interpreting various themes by American composers such as George Gershwin, Michael John LaChiusa, Stephen Sondheim and Kander & Ebb.
Audra McDonald has become, during the past years, one of the best actresses and singers from Broadway after being awarded six Tony Awards for her performance in "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill" (2014), "Porgy and Bess" (2012), "A Raisin in the Sun" (2004), "Carousel" (1994), "Master Class" (1996) and "Ragtime" (1998). With these awards , not only has she become the first artist to get six Tony awards (as Julie Harris and Angela Lansbury were the actresses who held the largest number of Tony with five awards), but also the first actress under 30 years old to be awarded three Tony Awards.
