 Newly created operas for children and young people

The Real Teatro de Retiro began with a twin purpose: education and art. Thanks to this creative platform, students have explored this concept to spark their creativity, approaching it from musical and dramatic points of view, as well as various aspects of corporal expression. This work offers its own journey of transformation.

Microperas is a space for experimentation and dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary. This time, Mozart´s legacy becomes the starting point for new voices and new views of modern opera. In the year of commemoration of the Generation of ´27 and, in general, the whole "Silver Age", this edition of Microperas will be devoted to the poetry of that period of spanish literary history.

A Real Teatro de Retiro production in cooperation with the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid, the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid and the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (RESAD).
