Programme
Season 22-23
The Teatro Real has designed an artistic, musical and choreographic new season with works that encompass five centuries that combine the most well loved titles, such as La sonnambula, Aida, Tristan und Isolde, Turandot or Arabella, with contemporary pieces like Nixon in China by John Adams, Orphée by Philip Glass, Diàlegs de Tirant i Carmesina by Joan Magrané or Quartett by Luca Francesconi, and without losing sight of Baroque operas such as L’Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi, Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, Orfeo ed Euridice by Christoph Willibald Gluck, Tolomeo, by Georg Friedrich Händel or the modern premiere of Aquiles en Esciros by Francesco Corselli. Dance plays an important part in the season with the presence of the English National Ballet, the Spanish National Dance Company (Compañía Nacional de Danza), and the New York City Ballet.
