The production of Electra is the first proposal to represent a complete plot in a work of the BNE under the Direction of Antonio Najarro.
Created by the choreographer, Antonio Ruz, it delves into different languages of dance, and thus gives life to this classic tragedy with an original and contemporary vision, inspired in our popular imagination.
The action takes place in a rural and profound Spain of the XX century, and narrates a story of fate and vengeance, of condemned blood and the search for freedom.
In the words of Ruz himself, with this work I want to “return to dance and to the chorus the place that we understand was rightfully theirs in the classic tragedies, as a unifying element of ideas and emotions. For me, Electra, beyond any styles or disciplines, is the continuation of the creative path that I undertook as a choreographer years ago. Electra is a human and sensorial experience in which movement, space, light, music and voice form a part to the whole.
