Gala de Ballet Ruso

No especificado

Artistic Direction: Ekaterina Galanova

Musical conductor: Valery Ovsyanikov

Despite their lengthy history of ups and downs linked to the rise and fall of the Tsardom, first of all, followed by the Revolution and then the fall of the Soviet Union, the Bolshoi Ballet from Moscow and the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky from St. Petersburg have weathered the storms and are still two of the best dance companies in the world, two essential references in classical ballet. Founded in the 18th century and consolidated in the 19th, they form the basis of the Russian school of ballet and have been the artifices of unforgettable choreographies that live on in the memory of ballet enthusiasts for their impressive display of stylistic and formal skills. This was confirmed during the visits to the stage of the Real of Spartacusby the Bolshoi in 2009 and Le Corsaire by the Mariinsky in 2006, among other works, and the 2008 Gala of Ballet Stars, in which leading dancers from both companies took part.

Gala closing the Spain-Russia Dual Year 2011, designed to increase relations, cultural exchanges and political cooperation between both countries.
