Antonio Fernández Montoya, ‘Farru’, (Seville, 1988) is a bailaor, choreographer and composer from the legendary Los Farruco dynasty. The son of El Moreno and La Farruca, and the grandson of Farruco, he made his debut at the age of six in the film Bodas de Gloria, directed by his grandfather, and shortly afterwards joined his brother’s company Farruquito, performing in New York City Center and London’s Sadler’s Wells. He has been photographed by Richard Avedon and featured in Vogue, and has also toured with Beyoncé, Björk and Paulina Rubio. He was a featured bailaor in Paco de Lucía’s company between 2007 and 2011, an experience that inspired his show Por un sueño. A choreographer for Rosalía and Sara Baras, in 2021 he directed the tribute to Paco de Lucía performed at the Teatro Real. His style is characterised by an overwhelming sense of power and ancestral purity.

Antonio Sánchez, guitar

Antonio Sánchez (Madrid, 1984) hails from one of the most influential families in flamenco guitar. He began his training with his uncles Paco de Lucía and Ramón de Algeciras, as well as his cousin José María Bandera, before going on to complete it under Juan Manuel Cañizares. He has built a name for himself accompanying dancers and singers, chiefly as the second guitarist in Paco de Lucía’s legendary septet, performing with them on stages around the world until 2014. He has also performed at renowned tablaos in Madrid, Tokyo and Barcelona. In 2024, he released his debut solo album Kavara, an intimate project featuring collaborations with artists such as Antonio Serrano, Farru, Carles Benavent and Alain Pérez.

Peña Torres Macarena

Founded in 1974 by a group of enthusiasts led by the painter Juan Campos Navarro, the Peña Torres Macarena is one of Seville’s most iconic flamenco institutions. Named after Torres street, in the historical La Macarena neighbourhood, since its inception it has featured legendary names such as Pies de Plomo, José de la Tomasa, El Cabrero and El Chocolate. Since 1976, it has been located on Torrijiano street, where it has continued the tradition of intimate recitals and a palo seco singing. Throughout its history, it has hosted major figures from the world of flamenco and organised singing, guitar playing, dancing and saeta competitions, as well as its traditional tribute to Pastora Pavón, known as ‘La Niña de los Peines’.
