Salomé Ramírez (Jerez de la Frontera, 1990) is one of the most promising contemporary flamenco dancers. She won the Desplante Award at the International Festival of Cante de las Minas in 2025 and the Best New Artist Award at the Jerez Festival in 2026. She is known for her strong artistic personality and her contemporary vision of dance, which is rooted in tradition. She has performed with renowned companies, such as Farruquito’s and Eduardo Guerrero’s, taking part in productions such as Sonerías, Onírico and Gaditanía. She is also part of Yerai Cortés’s company, performing in shows such as Guitarra coral and Popular. Alongside this she is developing her solo career with original productions such as Palo cortao, in which she reaffirms her stage identity and artistic maturity. 

Álvaro Mora, guitar

Álvaro Mora (Moguer, 1998) is a flamenco guitarist with a strong musical education who is earning increasing acclaim. He began his studies at the Javier Perianes Professional Conservatory of Huelva, before going on to complete them at the Rafael Orozco Higher Conservatory of Cordoba, as well as pursuing a Master’s Degree in Flamenco Research and Analysis at Pablo de Olavide University. A student of Rafael Riqueni, he continued his training under masters such as Juan Manuel Cañizares, Antonio Rey, Manolo Franco, Niño de Pura, Gerardo Núñez and Dani de Morón. In 2022, he won the prestigious Bordón Minero Award at the International Festival of Cante de las Minas. His elegant, sensitive and technically refined style establishes him as one of the most promising emerging talents in contemporary flamenco guitar.

Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas

The International Festival of Cante de las Minas, held in La Unión since 1961, is considered the world’s premier flamenco competition. Its stage has hosted some of the genre’s greatest figures and has provided a platform for numerous artists thanks to awards such as the Lámpara Minera, the Bordón Minero and the Desplante. Since 2010, the Cante de las Minas Foundation has supported the festival’s activities, tirelessly working to preserve, research and promote flamenco, with a particular focus on cantes mineros. In addition to itsartistic programming, the foundation promotes scholarships, publications, conferences, training programmes and international projects. Every summer, it brings together artists, researchers and enthusiasts from around the world, thus consolidating its role as a vital hub for flamenco.
